My name is Greg Tillotson, owner of Fireplace Treatments. First off, let me thank you for giving me the opportunity to help you with your fireplace. I appreciate your business and will go out of my way to ensure you are more than satisfied with my service. I have been in the fireplace business for nearly 40 years and I am passionate about what I do. I love working directly with my customers to create the perfect fireplace treatment for their home.
I design and sell custom made fireplace screens and doors, along with all of the accessories needed to make your fireplace functional and attractive. Everything I design will be made to fit your fireplace and compliment your decor. Think of me like an Interior Designer for your fireplace. You will deal with me directly, so you don't have to worry about communicating with several people to get your project done.
I do not use a shopping cart on this website, it creates too many limitations and makes things overly complex. Not having a cart allows me to design things specifically for your fireplace you cannot find anywhere else online. It also allows me to interact directly with my customers and get to know them personally, which adds joy to my life.
I love a good challenge. If your fireplace is unusual, extra large or small, arched, multi-sided, rough stone, or demands something spectacular, I want to work with you. This is where I excel and get my mojo.
I specialize in very exclusive high end screens and doors made from solid brass and wrought iron that are not available at typical fireplace shops. Many of my designs are exclusive and cannot be found anywhere else. I am also know to take on the tougher projects most fireplace shops try to avoid.
I also supply custom screens and doors that are simple and more affordable. You will find my prices to be quite competitive in this real.
I do not sell low end products that are mass produced like what you find at Amazon, Home Depot and Lowe's. Everything I sell is custom made.
Email Me Pictures Of Your Fireplace and I will create some mockups showing you how various screens and doors might look on your fireplace along with a quote for each option. Usually we will hop on a quick call to discuss your project so I can answer your questions and help you choose which option is best for your application and budget. Once you have chosen a design, I send you a link to an invoice you can pay securely online. I then send your order to the manufacturer and they ship it direct to your home after it has been made.
Typical lead time for most items is 6-8 weeks from the time you pay the invoice. Ultra High-End products and complex items can take up to 12-14 weeks. We will discuss this further before we finalize your project.
In most cases, fireplace screens and doors are an easy DIY project, so if you are the least bit handy, you can do it yourself. If you are not handy, you can hire a handyman to do the job and I can work with him (or her) to get the job done. I installed thousands of screens and doors over the years, so I can give you insights and shortcuts to make the job easier. In some cases, I can create illustrations using pictures of your fireplace to describe things that may be a bit tricky.
I have been in the fireplace business since 1985 (nearly 40 years). I originally started at a small mom and pop fireplace shop here in Southern California where I provided in-home consultations and installation for fireplace screens, doors, gas logs and mantels. I was trained by an engineer who was quite meticulous. He specialized in products made by Stone Manufacturing, a very high-end luxurious brand sold only at a few fireplace shops across the country. Their product is quite expensive and requires a great deal of knowledge and expertise specify and quote.
I was so intrigued by this product that I became fascinated by the history of some of the pieces they make. Many are "Antique Recreations" of highly appraised antiques they purchased from estate sales and auctions. I read books on the history of fireplace accessories and antiques and developed a greater appreciation for the craftsmanship and attention to detail that Stone Manufacturing put into their products.
To keep up with design trends, at one time I had 20 subscriptions to design magazines such as Southern Living, Better Homes and Gardens, Architectural Digest and the like. I cut out the fireplace pictures and separted them into notebooks based on style. I studied those notebooks and used them as idea books for customers over the years.
In 1994, I helped created the website for hansenwholesale.com, the very first website to introduce fireplace decor to the Internet (before there was such a thing as Google). For many years, I managed the entire fireplace department, which is where I introduced the idea of creating mockups that I currently use here at Fireplace Treatments.
30 years later, in January of 2024, Hansen Wholesale filed for bankruptcy and closed its doors. I established Fireplace Treatments in February of 2024 in order to continue my passion (and feed my family).
