Glass Doors for Outdoor Stacked Stone Fireplace - Project #10155

Customer Comments: Hello. Will you provide me with a mockup of the “Buckingham Mantel" in Solar Bronze, Cast Bronze, Classic Bronze, and Ancient Age. My outdoor fireplace opening is 45" wide by 29.25" high. Pictures are attached.

Opening Size: 45" W x 29 1/4" H

Our Comments: We have created the mockups your requested. A couple important notes: Because the mantel door extends wider at the top, we recommend that you chip away the stones at the to to allow the door to be made wider and minimize the gaps on the side. Since this location is going to be exposed to a lot of moisture, we must make this door from solid 304 stainless steel instead of the normal steel, otherwise it will eventually rust and cause issues with the finish and hinges. The 304 stainless steel can be powder coated in any of the finishes you requested just like normal steel. The handles that are normally used on the Buckingham door cannot be made from stainless steel, so we will need to use a more basic bar type handle as we have created in the mockups. Stainless steel will increase the price of the door dramatically, but it is the only way we can make this style for an outdoor application.

The Buckingham Mantel door is one of our own custom designs where we combine the features to two of our custom doors: the Buckingham Arch and the Mantel Door. Hence the reason we are calling it the "Buckingham Mantel". Price is per quote for stainless steel.

We have supplied links to each door below their corresponding picture so you can get an idea of the prices and options in normal steel.

Glass Door Mesh Options

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.

We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
