Glass Doors and Screens for Large Corner Fireplace - Project #10559

Customer Comments: I have two corner fireplaces that we are getting ventless gas log sets for, and need doors for each. We will choose the same screen for both, so have just included photos for the main one in this email. As you'll see, we have a modern home so are looking for a frame that is simple and clean, probably black or possibly a brushed, non-shiny brass. Probably glass, but would like to see a mesh curtain option as well, please.

Measurements are:
Fireplace 1 (photos attached): width: 50" x depth: 20.5" x height: 29" Fireplace 2 (no photos): width: 42.5" x depth: 20.5" x height: 29"

Thanks!

Our Comments: We have created several ways of treating this fireplace. The post in the corner poses an issue with most fireplace doors. Some doors will need to overlap the bricks to avoid the post and a few can fit under the bricks and still avoid the post.

Glass Door Mesh Options

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.

We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
