Satin Nickel Glass Doors for Stacked Stone Fireplace - Project #10612

Customer Comments: Good afternoon, we are looking for a glass door for our fireplace. The measurements of the opening are 21" high (that includes the existing top and bottom track) and 36" wide. We are looking for a glass door or other available option to close the opening of our fireplace when it is not in use. It would be great if it was heat-resistant, so we could keep it closed when we make a fire, however, that is not a strict necessity. We are looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you and best regards.

Our Comments: We have created examples using both your closeup picture and room view. The Aluminum and Steel doors can be closed when you burn a wood fire. The solid brass doors must remain open but can have a mesh curtain behind them that can be closed when you are burning.

Glass Door Mesh Options

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.

We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
