Customer Comments: I am looking for a custom cover for our outdoor fireplace. The opening is 37 high 42 wide. there is a very small lip at the bottom of the fireplace but only 3 inches deep.
Our Comments: Screens for outdoor fireplaces must be made from special materials that resist rust. These materials include Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Solid Brass and Zinc Coated Wrought Iron. These materials can all be painted black. We can create glass doors, mesh doors or sliding mesh screens from these materials. Below are examples of each.
Fireplace Opening: 42" W x 37" H
Option #1A: C92 Bar and Mesh. The bar is made from solid brass painted black with stainless steel mesh painted black. This is the least expensive treatment option for an outdoor fireplace. This can be made with a matching bottom bar as shown in Option #1B below.
Option #1B: WI-C92 Wrought Iron Bar and Mesh with Matching WI-F92 Bottom Bar. This is made from zinc coated wrought iron in a natural iron finish with stainless steel mesh painted black. The bottom bar helps prevent logs from rolling out of the fireplace. A bottom bar can be added to Option #1A.
Option #2: CFR85 4 Sided Frame with Mesh Curtains. Made from Solid Brass with Stainless Steel Mesh All Painted Black.
Option #3: Brookfield Outdoor Mesh Fireplace Door. This door is made from aluminum with stainless steel hinges and stainless steel mesh painted black. This can also have glass doors with mesh doors behind the glass.
Option #4: 304 Stainless Steel Glass Doors with Stainless Steel Gate Mesh Backup Doors Painted Black.
Option #5: DF1M Solid Brass Mesh Door with Stainless Steel Mesh All Painted Black.
Option #6: WI-DF1M Zinc Coated Wrought Iron Mesh Door with Stainless Steel Mesh Painted Black.
If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.

Photo #1: With your camera sideways, take a picture directly in front of the fireplace from far enough away to see the entire fireplace floor to ceiling like this.

Photo #2: With your back to the fireplace, take a picture looking straight out into the room so we can see the decor directly in front of the fireplace.
