Glass Doors for Linear Outdoor Fireplace - Project #11131

Fireplace Model: Caminetto Medeo Fireplace-Oven Combo by: Stone Age Manufacturing

Customer Comments: Good Afternoon, I am looking to see what my options are for a glass fireplace door for the attached fireplace. I attached specs of the opening and a picture of it complete. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks

Our Comments: Outdoor fireplaces require doors made from special materials that can handle the elements including: Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Solid Brass and Zinc Coated Wrought Iron. We have created examples using Aluminum and Stainless Steel. Similar options are available in the other two materials, but they are about double the cost, so we will start with these. Aluminum is by far the most affordable but comes with some limitations as noted below.

Fireplace Opening: 63" W x 26 1/2" H
Measurements are taken from the specification sheet you provided, but it appears the masonry work was done smaller than the opening, so we will need to confirm the dimensions.

Affordable Aluminum Doors

Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.

Profile 4
Profile 4 Fireplace Door Option #1: Hearth Creations Profile 4 Outdoor Fireplace Glass Door in Matte Black with Stainless Steel Hardware and Mesh. Shown as an inside fit with mortar used to fill the gap between the frame and the stone. This door can only be made up to 60" wide, so whether it can be used will be determined by your actual opening size. This door must be burned opened.
Brookfield
Brookfield Fireplace Door Option #2: Brookfield Outdoor Fireplace Glass Door in Rustic Black with Stainless Steel Hardware and Mesh. The stainless hardware is not available on the bifold hinge, so twin doors are always recommended on this model. However, because of the width of your opening, twin doors are not practical, so the hinges may need to be replaced periodically as they are susceptible to rust. This door can be burned opened or closed.

High End Stainless Steel Doors

These doors are constructed entire from stainless steel and will hold up very well outdoors. They can be made in a natural stainless finish or a black powder coat. We are showing two different brands that are very similar in design, but will give you a comparison in pricing.
