Custom Outdoor Fireplace Doors - Project #11183

Customer Comments: Hi I am interested in a curtain screen for this fireplace. Will it work with/can it be mounted to the stacked stone? Thank you for your reply

Our Comments: There are several ways to add a screen to an outdoor fireplace raised in the wall like yours. Each of these options are made from materials designed to withstand the elements.

Glass Doors

Glass doors are great for outdoor fireplaces because they allow you to burn a fire when it is breezy without the smoke and ashes blowing around. Just close the doors when it gets windy and open them when it is calm.

Mesh Doors

Mesh doors are the next best thing to glass doors. These are made from stainless steel with a powder coat finish.

Bar and Mesh
Fireplace Frame Screen Option #3: C92-F92 Wrought Iron Bar and Mesh with Bottom Bar. Made from Zinc Coated Wrought Iron and Stainless Steel Mesh Painted Black. The bottom bar helps prevent logs from rolling out of the fireplace and keeps cats and other critters out as well (when used with bottom pet deterrent channel).

Glass Door Mesh Options

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.

We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
