Tight Sealing Glass Doors for Rock Fireplace - Project #11278

Customer Comments: We are looking for glass doors, yes we removed the gas insert and are returning it back to wood. We like clear glass, and as much glass for viewing, air tight for efficiency.

Our Comments: There are no doors that are completely air tight, but we do have what are called "Tight Fitting Doors", which come as close to air-tight as you can get. They are quite a bit more expensive than typical doors, so we included a leass expensive option. With that saide, most of our doors actually have a pretty good seal without the tight fitting door option and should be more that sufficient to drastically improve the efficiency of your fireplace. The main thing is to fit the doors inside the opening and fill the gaps with mortar as shown in the mockups.

Affordable Aluminum Doors

Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.

Medium Range Steel Doors

Steel doors are more substantial than the less expensive aluminum doors. They are heavy duty and rugged and are more customizable because the frames are laser cut.
