Our Comments: Here are some options to consider in various price ranges from the lest to most expensive. We have included closeup and room views of each option.
Fireplace Opening: 48 1/2" W x 29 3/4" H
Before:
Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.
Option #1: Design Specialties Stiletto Cutback Fireplace Glass Door in Rustic Black with Clear Glass and Mesh Curtains.
Option #1: Room View
Steel doors are more substantial than the less expensive aluminum doors. They are heavy duty and rugged and are more customizable because the frames are laser cut.
Option #2: Design Specialties Legend Fireplace Glass Door with 1" Frame in Old World Bronze with Gray Glass and Mesh Curtains.
Option #2: Room View - with Clear Glass instead of Gray Glass
These doors are hand crafted by skilled artisans from Solid Brass or Steel, depending on the finish that is desired. Very high end, and very refined. Items made from solid brass come in a wide variety of hand crafted patinas and other finishes. Satin Nickel finishes done on solid brass are the finest quality and will not rust like plated steel.
Option #3: Stone Manufacturing Minimal-1 Fireplace Twin Glass Door with Weathered Brass Hardware, Gray Glass and Mesh Curtains. This door has no frame on the sides and features unique 3/8" thick glass and very little visible hardware.

Option #6: Stone Manufacturing SD Sliding Fireplace Door in Weathered Brass with Clear Glass and Mesh Curtains. This door has 2 fixed panes of glass on the right and left sides and 2 sliding panes in the center (shown with doors open). Probably best if you are planning on using gas logs or some other gas burning feature.

Option #7: Stone Manufacturing DF1G-52 Solid Brass Folding Cabinet Fireplace Doors with Half Oval Casting Trim in Weathered Brass with Gray Glass and Mesh Curtains. There are many other casting trims available for this door.

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
