Custom Fireplace Screens & Doors 3-Easy-Steps |
1: Send us pictures of your fireplace 2: See mockups of how options look 3: Choose the option you like best |
Customer Comments: We are looking to upgrade our current fireplace and would like to work with you to see what solutions you come up with. Our fireplace is not masonry, but it is pre-built. See attached to this email the 3 pictures of the fireplace.
Our preferences are as follows:
- we want the fireplace door to be made out of glass
- french like glass doors ( not the bifold ones)
- the glass frame to be black in color
- the depth of the fireplace is 17in with a length of 26.75. Please recommend us a match lit burner as well (we prefer the burner to be low profile so that it does not take too much of the space- we will likely add the decorative glass to hide the burner)
- we want the look of the fireplace door be modern
- we will want to add the decorative driftwood, white balls (~4in), and decorative white glass
-add in a standard gas valve cover
Thank you
Our Comments: We will start with the two ideas below to see if this is anywhere close to what you are looking to do. We added a black surround around the glass doors in order to bring the fireplace into proportion and hide the internal metal that surrounds the opening. There are other ways to treat this with glass doors, but we felt this was the best.

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
