Rustic Glass Doors for Rock Fireplace - Project #11366
Customer Comments:
The opening is 48" wide x 25"-26" tall. The bottom is on stone and varies between 25" to 26". We would like something rustic in design.
Our Comments: Here are a few of our choice rustic style doors that will compliment your fireplace and decor. The majority of doors we sell for stone fireplace like this are made to fit inside the opening and the gaps around the door must be filled with mortar. If the stone is not too irregular, you may be able to get away with an overlap fitting door if we use a wider frame to better hide the gaps. Option #6 shows that option, although all of the doors shown can be made with wider frames to overlap the stone.

Example: These doors are hand crafted by an actual blacksmith, they are not laser cut. Every door takes on it's own individual character. The rough texture is created by a special technique during the forging process that cannot be achieved by applying powder coat or other painted finishes like steel or aluminum doors. This gives these doors a very unique and authentic rustic look.

Glass Door Mesh Options
If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
