Our Comments: Here you will find several examples showing how glass doors might look fitting inside under the arch or overlapping the arched stones. For a clean finished professional look and tighter seal, we recommend fitting the door under the arch and filling the gaps with mortar painted to match the fireplace.

Hi guys,
I found your business on-line and am very excited about the possibility of upgrading our mesh fireplace doors with glass doors.
The current doors are what someone might call "custom", but I'd describe as "homemade". Therefore, I've enclosed more photos than you typically request because this is such an unusual screen.
The outer frame is welded together. The vertical pieces on each side at 2"x2" angle iron.
Another challenge on this is that the fireplace is wider than typical. At approx 46" wide, the new doors need to fold up. Two 1-piece doors would be too big to have open as they would extend past the stone hearth.
I really want this to be beautiful, functional and made well enough to last forever. I'm open to getting creative. We'd prefer black color (dark colors) and our home is a traditional Texas Ranch with a bit of Spanish influence.
Would you please design a new, beautiful and functional fireplace door set for us?
Thanks
If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
