Our Comments: Only the solid brass doors are available in a true antique brass finish. We have created mockups of several doors in various price ranges subject to our subsequent email conversation regarding the price range.
Fireplace Opening: 30 5/16" W x 32 9/16" H
Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. We selected this door because it is the least expensive custom option.
Steel doors are more substantial than the less expensive aluminum doors. They are heavy duty and rugged and are more customizable because the frames are laser cut.
Hand crafted doors take on a more rugged natural look for those who appreciate craftsmanship tasteful details.
These doors are hand crafted by skilled artisans from Solid Brass. Very high end, and very refined. Items made from solid brass come in a wide variety of hand crafted patinas and other finishes as well as decorative casting trims as shown below)
Use your imagination to create the perfect fireplace screen with these solid brass castings from Stone Manufacturing. Compliment architectural details in the mantel or other furnishings in our home, or simply create your own unique look. Available in a wide variety of finishes.
Original Customer Comments: Hello, I would like a door mock-up for my Rumsford fireplace in my bedroom. It is a real fireplace with fresh air inlet and chimney, but I installed a gas log burner. I do not want vents or a screen. I only want to stop the draft when not in use. Minimal ornamentation such as in your Project 11081 option 11 but with only one verticals and one horizontal stile. Antique brass finish.
Opening details:
30 5/16" wide
32 9/16" high
Hearth is 1" higher than hearth extension
Surround is 1 1/8" thick
Note control knob
Thank you.
Subsequent Comments: We call it early American. The log set and burner can be moved back, but it will be raised up about an inch to clear the gas fitting. We very much like the look but please include antique brass finish. Less costly options would be nice.
If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
