Our Comments: We can replicate the door you provided as an example, which will be quite expensive ($8-10K). We have included some other examples that will be more reasonably priced.
Fireplace Opening: 32 1/2" W x 35 1/8" H
Here's how a hand crafted wrought iron copy of the door you liked might look on your fireplace. This would be commissioned by a blacksmith to reproduce the details as close as possible. We are showing this example as an overlap fitting door, but it could also be made to fit inside the opening and the gaps filled with mortar as shown in your original example.
Here are a couple examples of wrought iron style doors that are much more affordable.
Dear Erick,
I have attached an image of the screen we would like to duplicate (shown below). The image was captured at The Idaho Club here in Northern Idaho. The remaining three images in the zipped folder are of our fireplace that requires a new screen. Our fireplace is an Isokern wood burning unit. The surround is 1 1/2" thick veneer cut natural stone. The width of the firebox opening is 32 1/2" (the narrowest stone to stone measurement) with a variation in opening width measurement between the two jagged sides of as much as 3/4" wider. The height under the lentil stone to the surface of the hearth stone is 35 1/8" at its narrowest point with a variation between the two surfaces of about 1/4" wider.
As depicted in the image of the Idaho Club fireplace screen, we want two doors, large rivets, surface mounted hinges and 1/8" x 1/8" wire mesh screen. The Idaho Club fireplace is recessed into the firebox opening. It appears that the natural stone was straight cut to receive the screen door assembly. Our proposed screen door will need flanges on the side to sit on the surface of the side stones, the bottom will sit on the hearth. The top will sit under the lentil stone, which protrudes 1 1/2" beyond the stone veneer. Preferably the assembly will need some sort of clips on the inside to hold it in place without legs. Or the top of screen door frame could be fitted with threaded holes in a vertical orientation so that we could screw machine screws into the holes to push up against the lentil stone and lock the screen door assembly in place with the pressure of those machine screws pushing against the lentil stone. Or any other attachment method you can recommend.
Best Regards.
If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
