Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.

The Sliding Door from Stone Manufacturing is the only door on the market with 4 panes of glass where the outer two panes are fixed and the inner panes slide left and right to open and close. It can be made from solid brass in a polished finish or steel in a flat black finish. There are many other brass finishes available as well if you do not prefer highly polished brass.
