Our Comments: Here are 2 ways to treat this fireplace with glass doors.
Fireplace Opening: 40" W x 24" H
Before:
Steel doors are more substantial than the less expensive aluminum doors. They are heavy duty and rugged and are more customizable because the frames are laser cut.
Option #1: Design Specialties Legend Fireplace Glass Door. Shown as an inside fit. We will make the door frame smaller than the opening equivalent to the width of the mortar joints between the bricks, which appears to be about 3/8" to 1/2". The gap between the brick and door frame will need to be filled with mortar.
Option #2: Design Specialties Legend Fireplace Glass Door. Shown overlapping the opening with custom cut corners. This will require an accurate template of the arch. We will cut the corners about 1/8" smaller than the arch so no fill is required.
