Glass Doors for Floor to Ceiling White Brick Fireplace - Project #11472

Customer Comments: Hi, My wife and I are trying to decide between the Brookfield and Savannah for our living room, but we can't make up our minds. Our house is a transitional style. We're also debating between Textured Black or Vintage Iron. Also how opaque is the grey (tinted) glass? Is it half as transparent as clear?

Our Comments: We have created mockups of the two options you are considering. Gray glass is tinted to roughly 35% darkness than clear glass. When the fireplace is painted black inside like yours, it may appear even less transparent and does a great job of hiding what's inside the fireplace when the doors are closed. You must burn gas logs with the doors open, so whether you choose clear or gray glass depends on whether you want to see inside the fireplace when it is not in use. We also included a brand new sliding "Rail" door for you to consider made specifically for your type of fireplace. It's in a much price range, but it is perfect for the application.

Affordable Aluminum Doors

Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.

New - Rail Door

The Rail door is designed specifically for fireplaces that are built floor to ceiling. The doors slide to the left and right on a track with rollers to open and close instead of swinging outwards. This is a clean looking new concept that will set your fireplace aside from others.
