Glass Doors for Fireplace with Angled Opening - Project #11473

Customer Comments: I have TWO fireplaces that need glass doors, they are both identical, I built a set of forms for the masons to build to so they would match. Attached are pictures of one of them but as I mentioned they are both the same. The house is Contemporary/Transitional. I would like flat black frames with Brushed Nickel trim, the fireplaces were built for inset frames. I would also like to purchase a propane gas log set for the living room fireplace and a log lighter unit for the family room unit

Our Comments: Here are some examples of what we recommend. Some of the doors can be burned with the glass closed while others must be open, so please read the notes carefully. Gas logs require doors to be open regardless.

Fireplace Opening: Approximately 47 1/2" W x 32" H

Glass Door Mesh Options

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.

We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
