Screen Doors for Rock Fireplace with Overhang - Project #11510

Customer Comments: Hi, I would like to get a quote on a screen for this fireplace. The opening is: 28" high by 45" wide. The overall width of the hearth is 78". I like your screen door with side panels style with a textured black finish.

Our Comments: Because the gas line is on the outside of the fireplace, we will need to add a 2" or 3" return to the back side of the screen with a notch to fit over the gas line. Each of the examples below can be made this way. We highly recommend screen doors that are attached to the fireplace so there are no issues with stability seeing as the hearth and fireplace face are somewhat irregular.

This shows how we would add a return on the back side of any of the screens to accommodate the gas line.

Ultra High End

These doors are hand crafted by Artisans at Stone Manufacturing, known as the elite fireplace accessory manufacturer in the USA. Meticulously crafted from the highest quality components on the market. The wrought iron door is made by a highly skilled blacksmith and has a unique rustic texture that develops during the forging process. Their "Pseudo" bifold doors are unique in the industry minimizing the obstruction of the fire with the added convenience of bifold doors that take up half the space when they are open. These doors are quite expensive, but are available as cabinet doors at a slightly lesser price.

Glass Door Mesh Options

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.

We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
