Customer Comments: Hi, I would like to get a quote on a screen for this fireplace. The opening is: 28" high by 45" wide. The overall width of the hearth is 78". I like your screen door with side panels style with a textured black finish.
Our Comments: Because the gas line is on the outside of the fireplace, we will need to add a 2" or 3" return to the back side of the screen with a notch to fit over the gas line. Each of the examples below can be made this way. We highly recommend screen doors that are attached to the fireplace so there are no issues with stability seeing as the hearth and fireplace face are somewhat irregular.

This shows how we would add a return on the back side of any of the screens to accommodate the gas line.
Option #1: Design Specialties Carolina Free Standing Screen Door with 2" Wide Frame and Fixed Side Panels in Textured Black. This screen will be less stable than other options.
Option #2: Hearth Creations Free Standing Screen Door in Textured Black. This screen can be made with clamps that the top of the frame to the lintel for added stability.
These doors are attached using "L" brackets that are mounted to the firebrick inside the fireplace. Because they are fixed securely, there are no issues with stability.
