Custom Fireplace Screens & Doors 3-Easy-Steps |

Customer Comments: Hello - we would like to get either two swing out doors or a similar hanging chain screen (but one that opens and closes smoothly and seals tight in the middle - the one we have is pretty junky). Black color is preferred.
Our Comments: We have created mockups showing options for glass doors, screen doors and mesh curtains to help you get an idea how they might look on your fireplace. Because this is a Zero Clearance Prefabricated fireplace, if glass doors are installed they must mount outside the stone and use 1/4" spacers on the back side of the frame to allow airflow into the fireplace. We can discuss this with you further over the phone.
Fireplace Opening: 39" to 41" W x 25" H
Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.
Hand crafted doors take on a more rugged natural look for those who appreciate craftsmanship tasteful details.
Mesh curtains can be installed with a bar that fits inside the top of the opening (bar and mesh) or with a frame that surrounds the opening. Because the opening is wider at the bottom, there will be a gap between the mesh and the stone at the bottom when using a bar and mesh. The frame screen will hide the gap.
If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
