Customer Comments: We are looking for glass doors for both of our fireplaces. One fireplace is in the living room and the other is in the Primary bedroom. For both we are looking for a very minimal, clean design, accordion style glass doors. Maybe a dark/black thin framed option and a no frame option? The surround material for both fireplaces is Dekton.
Our Comments: Here are some great minimal style doors that can be made to fit both fireplaces. We have chosen to do the mockups using the photos from the bedroom. Doors that fit inside the fireplace must be made rectangular and slightly smaller than the smallest dimensions. Because the fireplaces are somewhat irregular, there will be gaps that will show. Grout may be necessary to fill the gaps. It will be important to use a level to find the smallest width and height dimensions.
Fireplace Opening:
Living Room: 59 3/4" W (top) x 60 1/4" W (bottom) x 39 3/8" H
Bedroom: 48" W (top) x 48 1/4" W (bottom) x 37 1/8" H
Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.
Option #1A: Hearth Creations Profile 4 Bifold Door in Matte Black (overlap fit). This door has a 1" wide x 3/8" deep frame that overlaps the opening 1/2" max.
Option #1B: Design Specialties Stiletto in Rustic Black (inside fit). This door has a 15/16" Wide Frame that is 1 5/8" deep making it better for an inside fit.
These are the most minimal doors on the market custom made by skilled craftsman at Stone Manufacturing. The frames are made with a 3/16" thick angle iron where the front edge is visible around the opening and the back angle disappears inside the fireplace behind the glass.

Option #3A: Stone Manufacturing EDGE-2 Inside Fit Sliding Door in Flat Black (show with doors open). The outer two glass panes are fixed and the inner two panes slide left and right to open and closed.
Option #3B: Stone Manufacturing EDGE-2 Inside Fit Sliding Door in Flat Black. Shown with Windswept Tree Gas Burning Sculpture and Bronze Reflective Glass Crystals.
If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
