Gas Logs and Screens for 1932 Fireplace Restoration - Project #11552

Customer Comments: Hello Design Service, I'm attaching pictures and measurements for the fireplace in the old 1932 home we are renovating. Unfortunately, there's no decor yet as we're just getting the drywall tape and texturing completed. The fireplace face was previously covered with concrete, and we were able to uncover it and are working on the cleanup of the front brick. If you can see in the main picture, there is a landscape in the painted tiles above the fireplace opening. The front door you see in the room view will also be replaced soon with something more traditional - a wood door with a speakeasy.

Measurements:
Front Width Opening: 34.5"
Front Height Opening: 28"
Depth: 28"
Rear Width: 26"
Rear Height: 9.5" ?

Thank you for your help in choosing the right gas log set!

Our Comments: We have done our best to try and clean up your fireplace and present some options. It is always recommended that there be some type of fireplace screen or door when installing gas logs, so we have included some appropriate accessories to help complete the look.

Glass Door Mesh Options

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.

We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
