Customer Comments: Hi Felix, Thanks for taking my call today. Here are photos of the fireplace in question. As mentioned, the height from floor to top of opening is 44" and the width of the opening at the widest point is 48". Thank you for your time! Best regards.
Our Comments: Here are the mockups you requested along with a couple other ideas.
Fireplace Opening: 48" W x 44" H
The Essentials 3-fold screen you selected is only available in two standard sizes: 8" W (side panels) x 30" W (center panel) x 30" H or 10" W (side panels) x 30" W (center panel) x 33" H. We created the mockup below using the larger size.
Hearth Creations and Stone Manufacturing use piano hinges that eliminate the gap between the panels while the Design Specialties screen uses a bullet hinges with small gaps between the panels.
We can make a single panel screen that fits the contour of the fireplace both arched and concave. The screen can be made to sit on the floor and overlap the opening, or sit inside on the ledge. The screen can be made from flat steel or hand forged wrought iron. We have included matching wrought iron andirons in these mockups since they are normally present with a single panel screen like this.
Our wrought iron screens are hand forged with a slight rough texture and hammered edges. The mockups show a flat steel screen, but the wrought iron shown below is optional.
If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.

The appearance of finishes represented may vary between digital monitors and screens. I do my best to recommend finishes that I believe will blend with your decor and flatter your fireplace.
