Polished Nickel Doors with Beveled Glass for Brick Fireplace - Project #11577

Customer Comments: Clean lines. Polished nickel. Beveled Glass doors.

Our Comments: We specialize in polished nickel glass doors made from solid brass. Beveled glass can be done with a 1/2" or 1" bevel on the perimeter, on the verticals or on all sides of the glass. We can also have a door made from nickel plated steel at a substantially lower price, but durability is an issue over long-run. Solid brass finish may last a good 50 years whereas plated steel as little as 8 to 10. The fire must be burned with the doors open on all of the solid brass doors.

Fireplace Opening: 44 1/2" W x 30 1/2" H

Medium Range Steel Doors

Steel is a lot less expensive than solid brass and can also be nickel plated. However, durability is an issue, over the years you can expect pitting and the potential for rust depending on how often the fireplace is used. One advantage is, you can burn a fire with the doors closed, although you must be careful as you can damage the finish if it gets too hot.

Affordable Aluminum Doors

Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.

Glass Door Mesh Options

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.

We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
