Glass Doors for a Tall Stone Fireplace - Project #11582

Customer Comments: Looking for cabinet style glass doors with rustic frame and cottage type handles width is 41 and height is 36.

Our Comments: Here are some great examples. Narrower framed doors can be made to fit inside the opening and require filling gaps with mortar. Wider style frames can be made to overlap the opening without mortar, but will not provide a tight seal. We can discuss this further over the phone.

Special Solid Brass

Meet the ultimate high end fireplace glass door hand made from 100% real virgin solid brass. This door features wire mesh in front of the glass to reduce the reflection and provide a more rustic look. The doors must be open when burning a fire, although they can be close to start the fire and while it is dying out. Mesh curtains or gate mesh backup doors are optional for behind the glass.

Glass Door Mesh Options

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.

We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
