Customer Comments: I would like recommendations for a fireplace screen and fireplace doors. I want both recommendations, fireplace screen and doors for comparison to help me decide which way to go.
Our Comments: Here are some ideas to consider. Because this is a zero clearance prefabricated fireplace, there are limitations on which glass doors will work. Some can fit inside the opening while others can overlap the bricks. We are showing both types.
Fireplace Opening: 42" W x 23 5/16" H
Before:
Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.
Option #1: Design Specialties Stiletto ZC Fireplace Glass Door. This door must fit inside the black metal opening.
Option #2: Hearth Creations Profile 2 Fireplace Glass Door in Matte Black. This door overlaps the bricks.
Hand crafted doors take on a more rugged natural look for those who appreciate craftsmanship tasteful details.
Option #3: Hearth Creations Iron Age 2 Fireplace Glass Door with Hammered Texture in Matte Black.
Option #4: Design Specialties Carolina Single Panel Fireplace Screen with Traditional Legs in Rustic Black. Made to overlap the opening 1" on the top and sides.
Option #5: Stone Manufacturing 1P30M Single Panel Fireplace Screen with Angled Feet and Square Handles in Flat Black. Made to overlap the opening 1" on the top and sides.
Option #: Hearth Creations Single Panel Traditional Screen with Standard Feet. Made to 47 x 30 (overlap the sides 2 1/2" and 6 3/4" on top) for a nice proportion.
Option #6: Hearth Creations Bowed Forged Screen with in Graphite. Made to 47 x 30 (overlap the sides 2 1/2" and 6 3/4" on top) for a nice proportion.

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.

Picture #1: With your camera sideways, take a picture directly in front of the fireplace from far enough away to see the entire fireplace floor to ceiling like this.

 Picture #2: With your back to the fireplace, take a picture looking straight out into the room so we can see the decor directly in front of the fireplace.

Please remove all objects from in front of the fireplace opening before you take your pictures (existing screen, plants or anything else). If you have an existing glass door, take pictures with the doors open and closed.
Once I recieve your pictures, I will create several mockups and post them to a project page and send you a link to view and them with others for their input. I will follow up with you to discus your project, quote prices and help you choose the treatment that suits you best.
