Customer Comments: We are trying to modernize this fireplace with out completely having it torn out because it is big and the hearth is into the hardwood. We really love some of the art deco cut out styles like DXF 47 (cabinet style NOT bifold). We also like DXF 27 and DXF 24. We want something stunning as it's the first thing you see when you open our front double doors .(as you can see very open floor plan) We don't want the design too busy though that it distracts from everything else! We would love any suggestions you have as you are the pros. We prefer no glass because we have found it's just constant cleaning it and never looks fabulous for long! If you think glass makes it better in our situation that is okay too!
Our Comments: Below are a variety of ways to add a screen to your fireplace. Some have doors, others attach with magnets, but all of the designs can be made in each way.
Fireplace Opening:
42 1/2" W x " 31H (Including black metal at bottom)
Tile at bottom Approximately 8 1/2" tall
These mesh doors are laser cut with exclusive patterns only available at Hansen Wholesale.
Stone Manufacturing is the ultra high end manufacturer of fireplace screens and accessories. They have a variety of ways they can make these screens. They can be single or double screen doors, a single screen attached with magnets or free standing screens with a ledge.
If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
