Customer Comments: Trying to get ideas and quotes for flat screen with doors for inside and outside
Our Comments: The outdoor fireplace requires materials that can withsand the elements; Stainless steel or solid brass painted black or zinc coated wrought iron. We have created examples of both types of materials along with some accessories to make both fireplaces fully functional.
Dimensions:
Outdoor Fireplace: 47" W x 47 5/8" H
Indoor Fireplace: 39 15/16" W x 46 9/16" H
These doors are made from laser cut steel for indoors and stainless steel for outdoors.
Solid Brass Edge style doors have a 4 sided angle iron frame that fits just inside the stone opening. Only the front edge of the angle shows around the perimeter of the door frames, creating a very clean minimal look. These are made from solid brass with stainless steel hardware and mesh.
Wrought Iron Edge style doors have a 4 sided angle iron frame that fits just inside the stone opening. Only the front edge of the angle shows around the perimeter of the door frames, creating a very clean minimal look. These are made from zinc coated wrought iron with stainless steel hardware and mesh.
Wrought Iron Gate style doors have a 3 sided angle iron frame that fits just inside the stone opening but does not go all the way to the top, creating a modern-rustic look. These are made from zinc coated wrought iron with stainless steel hardware and mesh.
These items are made from stainless steel with a natural iron powder coat finish. The free standing screen will not be stable due to the size, but it can be mounted to the fireplace using "L" brackets at the top.
If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
