Custom Screens for Outdoor Arched Fireplace - Project #11620

Customer Comments: Hello, I would like a quote for a fireplace screen like the Carolina one below.

Our Comments: Since this is an outdoor fireplace, you will need a screen made from powder coated stainless steel, solid brass or zinc coated wrought iron. Stainless steel with a powder coat finish is the least expensive, so we will start there. Because the fireplace floor is above the hearth, the rear feet cannot be used unless the screen stands away from the fireplace about 4". If you want the screen to set flat against the fireplace, you will need to remove the rear feet and the screen will not stand on its own when you need to move it to tend the fire, it will need to lean against something. For this reason, we recommend using a screen door that can be attached to the fireplace at the top and does not need to be moved away to tend the fire.

Fireplace Opening: 44" W x 37" H (center) x 29 1/2" H (sides)

Glass Door Mesh Options

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.

We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
