Customer Comments: Hi there I'm looking to get a glass door made for my corner fireplace. Non opening glass on the left (short) side. Double opening out on front ( long) side. Would like frame to be as minimal as possible and sit inside opening rather then over lap opening if possible in black. Hinges can be chrome. The opening is 16 7/8" wide and 21 7/16" tall on short side. Long side is 44 5/8" wide and 21 1/4" tall. As you will see in the attached pictures the surround of the fireplace is granite tile.
Our Comments: Here are some examples of doors that will work for your fireplace. Only the first option can be burned with the doors closed. Option #2 is the door you requested. Because the height is irregular, we suggest using an overlap fitting door, which is why we have chosen some of the others.

Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.

Option #2: Design Specialties Brookfield Corner Fireplace Glass Door with Rustic Black Frame and Satin Nickel (anodized aluminum) doors. This door can be burned closed.
These doors are hand crafted by skilled artisans from Solid Brass or Steel, depending on the finish that is desired. Very high end, and very refined. Items made from solid brass come in a wide variety of hand crafted patinas and other finishes. Satin Nickel finishes done on solid brass are the finest quality and will not rust like plated steel.
Option #3: Stone Manufacturing Minimal-1 Corner Glass Door with Flat Black Angle Subframe and Polished Chrome Edges and Hardware. This door has 3/8" thick glass for a very modern minimal appearance. Must be burned with the doors open.
Option #4: Stone Manufacturing HLD-1 Hingeless Corner Door with Flat Black Frame and Solid Brass Half Oval Casting Doors in Brown Antique Silver. Must be burned with the doors open.

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
