Gas Logs and Burning Sculptures for Modern Tile Fireplace - Project #11677

Customer Comments: Hi, I was interested in a new natural gas log set for our fireplace. The fireplace is a masonry wood burning fireplace, with a damper, that was converted to natural gas. I'm looking for a vented, simple match light, natural gas log set. Let us know what products you might recommend.

Our Comments: Here are some examples of what we recommend for a modern fireplace like yours where the opening is raised in the wall. You may wish to add a small bar across the bottom of opening to prevent the media from falling out of the firelace. We have included that option in a couple of the mockups. If you prefer gas logs over the more contemporary options, adding andirons is a great way to make them look a bit more modern.

Sliding Glass Doors

These modern glass doors made by Stone Manufacturing have a very minimal look. The outer glass panes are fixed while the left and right panes are fixed while the center panes slide left and right to open and close. Mesh curtains can be open when the doors are closed, which allows for a more clearview of the fireplace when it is not in use.

Glass Door Mesh Options

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.

We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
