Customer Comments: Interested in your log set that has the flame coming out of the logs. I like your suggestion on painting the bricks black. I would also like to see some screen mockups. We do plan on having a screen in front of the log set, but not sure exactly what our options are. I watched the videos that you sent and I do have a concern about the amount of noise these logs produce. We have had several gas fireplaces and some were noisier than others. The room this is going in is relatively small, so noise factor is a concern for us. Maybe glass doors instead of a screen. Your thoughts? Thanks for your help.
Our Comments: As I mentioned in my email, noise should not be an issue with these gas logs as long as the pilot is properly adjusted. We have created quite a few mockups showing the Lava Series gas logs with a variety of screens and doors. Please keep in mind that if you go with glass doors, you must burn the gas logs with the doors open. Unfortunately, we cannot create the mockups for glass doors with the gas logs turned off.
Fireplace Opening: 39 1/2" W x 28" H (center) x 24" H (sides)
Inside Dimensions: 24" Rear Width x 21" Deep
Each of these glass doors can be made with mesh doors instead of glass, or they can have both glass doors and mesh doors behind the glass.
If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
