Privacy Screens for See Through Gas Fireplace Between Bedroom and Living Room - Project #20080

Customer Comments: We need to have a custom-made privacy screen made for our two-way fireplace which the Living Room and Master Bedroom share. We haven't been able to find one that would fit our fireplace. We would like the screen to be in the Master Bedroom only. We are open to a moveable screen or a metal/mesh/chain type of curtain that can be pulled open/closed. Photo #3 is a view of the Living Room side and as you can see we can see right through to the bedroom. Can you help us with this?

Our Comments: We can make a free standing screen with a solid steel panel. These look great with decorative patterns overlaying the panel. They can also be made with doors that can open and close. When standing in front of a sealed gas fireplace, we recommend moving the screen at least 8" away from the glass or having the doors open, if you choose a screen door.

Glass Door Mesh Options

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.

We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
