Custom Fireplace Glass Doors for Contemporary Marble Fireplace - Project #20083

Customer Comments: Hi Greg, I received your contact information from Taso Galitos. I want to inquire for a fireplace door and mesh for our wood burning fireplace. I know you would likely need to come by for measurements but I have rough measurements so you can let me know if you can accommodate this and rough pricing. 36"w x 28"h. I have a style picture below for reference. I would like it in different colors. Yes I would like to burn the wood fire with the doors open or closed so we have the option.

Our Comments: The examples below show a full range of options from the least to most expensive doors that can be made to fit your fireplace. All of these can be burned with the doors closed except fot the last one. They can be made to fit inside or overlap the opening. The opening must be perfectly square for an inside fit and we must leave at least 1/8" between the frame and the marble on the top and sides for expansion.

Affordable Aluminum Doors

Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.

Glass Door Mesh Options

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.

We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
