Our Comments: This fireplace requires a special custom made door that has slots in the frame to allow air to flow into the vents around the opening as well as the top louver. Here are a couple examples of doors made that way. We can incorporate details from doors on our Doors With Vents Page Here.

These doors are designed to cover the entire black metal fireplace. They can be made to attach with magnets, for a no-tools required installation.
Option #1: Hearth Creations ZC-Retrim with 1515 Louver and Custom Air Slots in Matte Black with Clear Glass and Gate Mesh Backup Doors.
Option #2: Hearth Creations ZC-Retrim-12 with Hammered Frame, 1519 Louver and Custom Air Slots in Burnished Black with Clear Glass and Gate Mesh Backup Doors.
These doors are made to overlap the frame 1/4" right around the opening.
Option #3: Hearth Creations Profile-4 ZC All Aluminum Fireplace Glass Doors with Matte Black Frame and Polished Brass (anodized aluminum) Doors. Shown with Gray Glass and Gate Mesh Backup Doors.

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
