Customer Comments: I wondered the cost of 1G10
Our Comments: The 1G10 glass fireplace screen has many options as far as the feet and glass. The screen can be made slightly smaller or larger than the opening. We have created mockups showing 3 choices and included all of the options below.
Fireplace Opening: 41" W x 31 1/2" H
Option #1: Stone Manufacturing 1G10 Glass Fireplace Screen with 4x4x2 Satin Nickel Channel Feet and 1/4" Clear Glass. 1" smaller than the opening on the top and each side.
Option #2: Stone Manufacturing 1G10 Glass Fireplace Screen with 4x4x2 Satin Nickel Square Block Feet and 1/2" Ultra Clear Starphire Glass. 1" larger than the opening on the top and each side.
Option #3: Stone Manufacturing 1G10 Glass Fireplace Screen with 5x5x2.5 Satin Nickel Half Round Block Feet and 1/4" Gray Glass. 1" larger than the opening on the top and each side.
Option #4: Stone Manufacturing 1G10 Glass Fireplace Screen with 4x4x2 Satin Nickel Channel Feet and 1/4" Clear Glass and Butterfly Lady Etching. 1" larger than the opening on the top and each side.
Ultra Clear (Low Iron) glass, often referred to as "Starphire" glass, does not have the typical green hue as normal clear glass. It is nearly double the price of clear glass but has a very upscale crystal clear look to it, with an aqua blue edge. For the ultimate appearance of luxury, order your glass screen with 1/2" thick Starphire glass if you can afford it! Graylite-14 is an upgraded glass that is about 50% darker than normal gray or bronze, which is great if you need to obscure what's inside the fireplace. Clear, Graylite-14, Gray and Bronze glass are available in 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" thickness. Ultra-Clear Low Iron glass is available in 3/8" or 1/2" thickness only.
The feet below are made from solid brass by Stone Manufacturing and are available in a Wide Variety of Finishes including polished brass, nickel, chrome (as shown), bronze, gold etc. They are designed to accommodate 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" thick tempered safety glass which is held in place by rubber pressure screws tightened with allen wrench. Channel Feet are available in 4"x4"x2" and 6"x6"x3" sizes and Block Feet in 4", 5" and 6" blocks. Block feet are made from heavy chunks of solid brass (they are not hollow), so they are more stable and costly than channel feet. All feet are available with optional felt pads. Block feet are available with optional roller bearings for easy movement on smooth flat surfaces.
Size Limitations:
Maximum size: 60" Wide x 46" Tall
4x4x2 Channel Feet: Max Width 42" | Max Height: 34"
6x6x3 Channel Feet: Max Width: 60" x Max Height: 46"
4" Block Feet: Max Width 42" | Max Height: 34"

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
Tempered vs Ceramic Glass: Tempered glass can handle sustained temperatures up to about 450F without breaking from heat and should be at least 8" from the flames. Ceramic glass can handle sustained temperatures up to about 1450F and be in direct contact with the flames. If you wish to burn fires with the doors closed, I highly recommend upgrading to ceramic glass. Ceramic glass is $800-$2000 more than tempered glass depending on the manufacturer.
Not all doors are available with all of these glass options.
