Customer Comments: Glass doors, I am looking for a modern look. The opening is 30 3/4 Tall X 49 1/4 wide.
Our Comments: In response to your subsequent communications regarding the need for lower pricing, the options below are the least expensive doors that can be made to fit your large fireplace.
Fireplace Opening: 49 1/4" W x 30 3/4" H
Before:
Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.
Option #1: Hearth Creations Basic-2 Fireplace Glass Door in Charcoal with Gray Glass and Gate Mesh Backup Doors. This is the least expensive custom door on the market and must be burned with the doors open. The maximum width to which it can be made is 50". This would only overlap the bricks 3/8" on each side, leaving small gaps at the mortar joints. If this does not look good, you can fill those gaps with mortar and paint it white to match the bricks.
Option #2: Design Specialties Brookfield Fireplace Glass Door in Rustic Black with Clear Glass and Gate Mesh Backup Doors. Can be burned with doors closed.
Option #3: Design Specialties Brookfield Fireplace Glass Door in Natural Iron with Clear Glass and Mesh Curtains. Can be burned with doors closed.

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
