Our Comments: Due to the irregular surface of the stone, you may want to consider a narrow framed door fitting inside the opening and filling the gaps with mortar. If you opt to overlap the opening, a wider frame will help hide the gaps behind the frame, but they will be noticable from the side view.

Affordable Aluminum Doors

Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.
