Customer Comments: We've tried a lot of things and smoke fills the room when we use this fireplace. Hoping your team can advise.
Further Comment: We tried the smoke shields and they did not work
Our Comments: Below are some options all of the options we recommended, but after knowing you have already tried smoke shields, it is clear that the best resolution is glass doors. I also recommend replacing the grate so your fires are not so close to the opening, which will encourage better draft. Otherwise, we must use "L" shaped glass doors, which are far more expensive. We have included some recommendations for wrought iron grates as well.
NOTE: Glass doors will need to be installed on both sides and must either both be open or both closed when the fire is burning. Not all glass doors can be burned closed, so we have selected doors that can be. Most of the smoke will occur when starting a fire and when the fire is dying out. You may find that during the main burn, you can open the doors without smoke. But, if it still smokes, keeping the doors closed will solive or greatly minimized the problem.

We offer a unique glass smoke guard that is perfect for see through fireplaces. This can be made to whatever dimensions are needed. The smoke guard can be combined with glass doors or other types of screens for spark protection.
Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.
Steel doors are more substantial than the less expensive aluminum doors. They are heavy duty and rugged and are more customizable because the frames are laser cut.
These grates are uniquely designed for see-through fireplaces and are hand crafted by skilled artisans at Stone Manufacturing
If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
