Customer Comments: You can't see the ceiling because is very high. We want a fire place glass screen but I think it has to have doors to open I will like with a very small border. I have seen some designs that I like. Thanks.
Our Comments: Below are 3 recommendations for a fireplace like yours. If you want the narrowest frame, you must fit the door inside the fireplace and leave about a 1/4" gap between the frame and the stone. You would then need to fill that gap with mortar. It’s a little extra work on your end, but that’s now you achieve the look you are asking for. Otherwise, you will need a frame about 2” wide that can overlap the stones about 3/4" on the top and sides like Option #2. I have other doors I can recommend, but wanted to get you started with these to see what you think. I will need the width and height of the opening to quote the prices, so please provide those measurements.
Fireplace Opening: 46 1/2" W x 31" H
Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.
Hand crafted doors take on a more rugged natural look for those who appreciate craftsmanship tasteful details.
These doors are hand crafted by skilled artisans from Solid Brass or Steel, depending on the finish that is desired. Very high end, and very refined.
If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
