Customer Comments: Looking at Free Standing Screens with Doors like D101 and D103.
Our Comments: Here are examples of how those screens will look along with other screens and doors we recommend.
Fireplace Opening: 33" W x 29" H
Free standing screen doors provide great spark protection and are convenient to use. They are not as stable as the mesh doors that are designed to be attached to the fireplace, so care must be taken when opening the doors.
Option #2: Hearth Creations Iron Age-4 Free Standing Screen with Doors in Metallic Latte.
These doors have pressure mount screws that attach them to the fireplace so there is no instability when opening and closeing the doors. No drilling is required to affix them to the fireplace, so they are easily removed if necessary.
Option #4: Hearth Creations Iron Age-2 Mesh Door with Hammered Textured in Rustic Black. Available without hammered textured.
Glass doors provide the overall best functionality. You can close them to help start your fire, open them when the fire gets going, then close them again as the fire dies out to keep the warm air in the house since the damper will be left open.
Option #5: Hearth Creations Basic-1 Low End Light Weight Fireplace Glass Door in Charcoal with Clear Glass and Gate Mesh Backup Doors.
Option #6: Hearth Creations Iron Age 4 Heavy Duty Fireplace Glass Door in Burnished Copper with Clear Glass and Gate Mesh Backup Doors.
Option #7: Stone Manufacturing Ultra-High-End Solid Brass Fireplace Glass Door with #88 Prince of Wales Casting Door Trim in Hardwood Bronze with Clear Glass and Mesh Curtains.
If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.

Photo #2: With your back to the fireplace, take a picture looking straight out into the room so we can see the decor directly in front of the fireplace.
