Fireplace Opening: 34 1/2" W (left side) x 24" W (right side) x 30 1/4" H
Before:
Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.
Option #1: Design Specialties Stiletto Corner Fireplace Glass Door in Rustic Black with Clear Glass. This door has a 15/16" wide frame that projects out 1 5/8" deep and overlaps the opening only 1/2".
Option #2: Design Specialties Bungalow Corner Fireplace Glass Door in Rustic Black with Clear Glass. This door has a 3 1/2" wide frame that projects out 1 1/8" deep and overlaps the opening up to 2 1/2", which may be enough to cover the exposed bricks.
Steel doors are more substantial than the less expensive aluminum doors. They are heavy duty and rugged and are more customizable because the frames are laser cut. This allows us to make the frame whatever width we want to cover the bricks or the bricks and metal plate as shown in the mockups below. The depth of the frame is also custom starting from 3/16" thick steel with whatever return depth is needed to clear the post.
Option #3: Hearth Creations Flat Steel Corner Fireplace Glass Door in Matte Black with Clear Glass and Gate Mesh Backup Doors. Shown just covering the bricks round the opening.
Option #4: Hearth Creations Flat Steel Corner Fireplace Glass Door in Champagne with Clear Glass and Gate Mesh Backup Doors. Shown just covering the bricks round the opening.
Option #5: Hearth Creations Flat Steel Corner Fireplace Glass Door in Charcoal with Clear Glass and Gate Mesh Backup Doors. Shown covering the bricks and metal around the opening.
