Customer Comments: I am looking for a custom screen for a fireplace in Birmingham, AL. We are looking for an arched style screen with the latch to open 4" from the top. This is a double sided fireplace so we will need two screens.
Our Comments: Here are some options and details for the screen gate mesh doors you are interested in.
Fireplace Opening: 41" W x 44" H (Center) x 37" H (Sides)
Before:
These doors are hand crafted by a skilled blacksmith with hand forged details. They have a 3-sided angle iron frame made to fit inside the opening.
Option #1: Stone Manufacturing WI-DF2M Camelback Arched Mesh Door with Top Latch and Twist Handles in Zinc Coated Natural Wrought Iron. Shown with Custom Flower Andirons.
Option #2: Stone Manufacturing WI-DF2M Camelback Arched Mesh Door with Leaf Scroll and Latch/Handle Combination in Zinc Coated Natural Wrought Iron.

If a less expensive alternative is needed, we can make a plain arched mesh door from stainless or solid brass that overlaps the opening. Here are examples of both.

Option #6: Stone Manufacturing Solid Brass Arched Outdoor Fireplace Mesh Door in Matte Black with Pseudo Clearview Thinline Centerframe and Waterfall Handles on Top. This door can also be made as a gate style door as opposed to overlap.

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.

Picture #1: With your camera sideways, take a picture directly in front of the fireplace from far enough away to see the entire fireplace floor to ceiling like this.

 Picture #2: With your back to the fireplace, take a picture looking straight out into the room so we can see the decor directly in front of the fireplace.

Please remove all objects from in front of the fireplace opening before you take your pictures (existing screen, plants or anything else). If you have an existing glass door, take pictures with the doors open and closed.
Once I recieve your pictures, I will create several mockups and post them to a project page and send you a link to view and them with others for their input. I will follow up with you to discus your project, quote prices and help you choose the treatment that suits you best.
