Customer Comments: We like Brookfield, clear glass. We would like quotes for 1) regular aluminum and 2) heavy gauge aluminum. The opening is 35.5" wide by 23.5". Brushed aluminum/brushed nickle.
Our Comments: The heavy gauge aluminum equivalent of the Brookfield would be the Profile-3 from Hearth Creations. We have included mockups of thos as well as several other higher quality brushed nickel doors so you have a good overall comparison of prices and materials.

Before:
Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.
Option #1A: Design Specialties Brookfield Light Gauge Aluminum Bifold Fireplace Glass Door in Satin Nickel (Anodized Aluminum) with Clear Glass and Draft Assembly.
Option #1B: Design Specialties Brookfield Light Gauge Aluminum Bifold Fireplace Glass Door in Satin Nickel (Anodized Aluminum) with Clear Glass Without Draft Assembly.
Option #2: Hearth Creations Profile-3 Heavy Gauge Aluminum Bifold Fireplace Glass Door in Brite Nickel (Anodized Aluminum) with Clear Glass.
Steel doors are more substantial than the less expensive aluminum doors. They are heavy duty and rugged and are more customizable because the frames are laser cut.
Option #3: Hearth Creations Flat Steel Cabinet Fireplace Glass Door with Satin Chrome Overlay and Clear Glass.
Each of these doors has unique modern characteristics for a sleek clean look with minimal frames and maximum glass viewing area.
Option #4: Hearth Creations Mid-Century Modern-1 Cabinet Fireplace Glass Door Brushed Nickel Plated Doors and Clear Glass.
Option #5: Hearth Creations Mid-Century Modern-1 Cabinet Fireplace Glass Door in Brite Nickel (Anodized Aluminum) with Clear Glass. The glass actually overlaps the outer frame leaving only about 1/4" exposed, which is a very unique look.
Option #6: Hearth Creations Mid-Century Modern-1 Cabinet Fireplace Glass Door with Narrow Black Frame and Polished Nickel Hardware (can also be brushed nickel). There is no frame around the glass, so the glass edges are exposed.
Option #7: Hearth Creations Mid-Century Modern-1 Cabinet Fireplace Glass Door with Brushed Nickel Overlay and Hardware and Clear Glass. There is no frame around the glass, so the glass edges are exposed.
These doors are hand crafted by skilled artisans from Solid Brass or Steel, depending on the finish that is desired. Very high end, and very refined. Items made from solid brass come in a wide variety of hand crafted patinas and other finishes. Satin Nickel finishes done on solid brass are the finest quality and will not rust like plated steel.
Option #8: Stone Manufacturing SD Sliding Fireplace Door in Satin Nickel or Pewter. Shown with the doors open. The 2 outer glass panes are fixed while the inner panes slide left and right to open and close.
Option #9: Stone Manufacturing CD-1 Cabinet Fireplace Door with #88 Prince of Wales Casting Overlay in Antique Pewter.

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
