Customer Comments: Hello, We're looking for craftsman style doors, recessed, solid bronze, arch top with screens. Measurements are as follows: Base = 48.5" Right side (facing fireplace) = 21.5" Left side (facing fireplace) = 22" Center height = 26.5"
Our Comments: I was unsure whether you wanted glass doors or mesh doors, so I created examples of both. I am not aware of any manufactuers that make fireplace doors using "Solid Bronze". The available materials for outdoor fireplaces are: Stainless Steel, Solid Brass and Zinc Coated Wrought Iron. Each of these materials is available in bronze finishes.
If you are wanting glass doors that you can burn with the doors closed, you must use ceramic glass. Otherwise, you need to burn the fire with the doors open. You will need to check with the manufacturer of your gas logs to see if burning with glass doors closed is safe. Most gas logs cannot be burned with glass doors closed.
Fireplace Opening: 48 1/2" W x 21 1/2 to 22" H (Sides) x 26 1/2" H (Center)
These doors are laser cut from 3/16" thick 304 stainless steel and are available in a variety of powder coat finishes.
Solid brass will last a lifetime, if not longer, making it an excellent choice for outdoor fireplaces. Available in a variety of baked enamel finishes or can be left unfinished to develop a natural patina.
Zinc coated wrought iron is one of the most rugged outdoor materials available. Each door is hand forged by a master blacksmith and has a true craftsman look about it with a rustic texture from the forging process. Available in Natural Iron, Natural Rust or bronze baked enamel finishes.
If you need something more affordable, we can make most of the above styles as free standing screens using the same materials.
If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
