Child-Proof Screens for Multi-Sided U Shaped Fireplace - Project #20247

Customer Comments: 3 way fireplace. Looking for safety screen door for our baby not to get in. Front is 49 1/2 Sides are 18 1/4 Height is 24”

Our Comments: We recommend attached gate mesh doors or glass doors for this application. Glass doors must be burned with the glass open when burning gas logs, so the front side will have gate mesh backup doors to provide protection when the fire is on.

Gas Logs: The gas logs you have are too small for the fireplace. We have included some gas log alternatives including the Grand Canyon Lava Series gas logs, featuring all new flame technology with burners inside the logs so flames come directly out of the logs themselves. These are the most realistic gas logs on the market.

Glass Door Mesh Options

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.

We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
