Custom Fireplace Glass Doors - Project #20260

Customer Comments: I'd like a price on the iron #12 and #14. Also, I wanted to know if it would be possible for it to be made so that it has a solid iron strip (say 6" or so) across the top width. The issue that we’re having is that the heat/gas is going up the back wall and coming out at the top. I welcome any other design suggestions you might have. Thanks. Pat Cross

Our Comments: We can make these doors with a "Smoke Guard" built-in to the back of the frame rather than making the top frame wider. This will look much nicer as the 6" wide smoke guard is relatively unnoticeable when the doors are open or closed while preserving the visual proportion of the fireplace opening.

Fireplace Opening: 47 1/2" W x 40" H

Glass Door Mesh Options

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.

We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
