3-Fold Screens for White Hewn Brick Fireplace - Project #20275

Customer Comments: Greg, thanks for your email. We are actually now looking for two screens. One will be a flat panel for a gas fireplace and the other will be a tri panel for a wood-burning fireplace. I have attached a photo of the wood burning fireplace. We are interested in the following tri panels: #1 3 fold plain wrought iron. #14 3F102 with a different mesh. #37 Vanderbilt. With any of these three, we would want a black finish. Thanks

Our Comments: Here are the mockups for each of the screens you have selected. Option #3 (#37 Vanderbilt) is made from solid brass and is very expensive. Option #1A and #1B are made by two different manufacturers with different hinges, which we have illustrated. The Piano hinges are preferred as sparks cannet get through between the panels, but they are more expensive.

Glass Door Mesh Options

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.

We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
