Customer Comments: I have a Buschbeck fire place and want a fire screen for the front of it. The dimensions are 26" wide at the base, 22" tall with a curve, and 13" tall at the sides before the curve.
Our Comments: Each of these screen types presented below can be made in the following materials: Plain Steel, Stainless Steel, Painted Solid Brass or Zinc Coated Wrought Iron. Plain steel is far less expensive, but cannot be left outdoors, otherwise it will rust. The other materials can be left outdoors as they are designed to withstand the elements. The wrought iron has a distressed texture and twisted handles. If you want any of the screens shown in wrought iron made in the other materials, the surface will be smooth and the handles will be square, similar to Option #1.

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
We are showing these options on a flat steel bifold door with a satin brass overlay and gray glass.
