Customer Comments: Our fireplace is 36 1/8" wide by 28 1/2" tall. It has a damper lever that goes through the brick about 3 inches above the opening in the top right, so the frame would need to be less than 31 1/2" tall in total
Our Comments: Here are some doors in a variety of price ranges that fit your fireplace. If you wish to burn fires with the doors closed, we recommend ceramic glass, which can handle temperatures up to 1400 degrees.

Before:
Aluminum is an excellent material for fireplace doors because it does not rust and can handle high temperatures when treated with powder coated finishes. It is also the most affordable.
Option #1: PW 4029 Gallery Standard Size Glass Door in Satin Black with Clear or Ceramic Glass and Mesh Curtains.
Option #1B: PW Breckinridge Custom Aluminum Glass Door in Satin Black with Clear or Ceramic Glass and Gate Mesh Backup Doors.
Option #2: Design Specialties Brookfield Fireplace Glass Door in Rustic Black with Clear Glass.
Steel doors are more substantial than the less expensive aluminum doors. They are heavy duty and rugged and are more customizable because the frames are laser cut.
Option #3: PW 3828 Essential Steel Door with Craftsman Window Pane in Textured Black with Clear or Ceramic Glass and Mesh Curtains. This door only overlaps the top 1/4". Custom size for better fit is available.
Hand crafted doors take on a more rugged natural look for those who appreciate craftsmanship tasteful details.
Option #4: Hand Crafted Wrought Iron Door with Square Arch Doors, Clear or Ceramic Glass in Hammered Black with Gate Mesh Backup Doors. This door can also be made with the round arch shown in Option #5.
These doors are hand crafted by skilled artisans from Solid Brass or Steel, depending on the finish that is desired. Very high end, and very refined. Items made from solid brass come in a wide variety of hand crafted patinas and other finishes. Satin Nickel finishes done on solid brass are the finest quality and will not rust like plated steel.
Option #5: Stone Manufacturing DF6G Square Round Arch Doors in Hammered Aged Copper with Rivets, Special Graylite-14 Dark Gray Glass and Mesh Curtains.

If you are planning on burning anything in your fireplace, you need to have mesh behind the glass so you can burn a fire with the doors open. You can chooe between gate mesh backup doors and sliding mesh curtains. Functionally, gate mesh performs the best as the wire has smaller holes that sparks cannot get through. Aesthetically, mesh curtains may be preferred because they do not have a vertical center frame that obstructs the view of the fire. When you are not using the fire or you want a complete unobstructed view, they do not stick out like gate mesh doors when they are opened.
